On Saturday, May 11, 2013, martial artist John Morrow, after fasting for five weeks, reenacted and surpassed his Guinness Book of World Records achievement to raise funds for Kids Against Hunger. He won the World Record in 2006, doing 123 pushups on the back of his hands in 60 seconds. In Saturday's reenactment he did 130 in 60 seconds. He is owner of Morrow's Academy of Martial Arts in Moline.

Pilot Club of Moline members Barbara Crawford, Carol Triebel, Marilyn Morley and Ethel Quasny showcase appetizers and desserts at their 2012 Playcrafter's event.  This year's event will be held on May 16. Tickets are $12 at the door .  Funds raised are used for donations to various local charities.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
